Don't Forget: God's Been Good

There are moments in life when it feels like God is far away. The weight of responsibilities, unexpected challenges, or simply the busyness of daily life can make it easy to overlook the ways He’s been at work all along. But the Bible reminds us over and over: we are called to remember.

Psalm 77 gives us a glimpse into the heart of Asaph, a man who found himself in deep distress. His words start with anguish, and he questions whether God had abandoned him. But then something changes. He makes a decision. Instead of letting his emotions define his faith, he changes his focus:

“I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.”

For Asaph, it was more than thinking positive thoughts. He anchored himself in truth.

When our situation feels uncertain, looking back at God’s faithfulness is what strengthens our hope for today.

Maybe you’ve had moments in your own life when God showed up in ways you didn’t expect. Provision at the last moment, peace when your world seemed rocky, an answered prayer that seemed impossible. Those moments weren’t just for that season; they are reminders of who God is. He doesn’t change. His goodness isn’t dependent on our circumstances. And just like Asaph, we have the choice to remember.
